Each year, about 550 young scientists attend the Manitoba Schools Science Symposium to present their research to top scientists and industry experts. It’s the largest annual science event held for students throughout Manitoba.
The MSSS was held on April 27, 2024. The WHRFC issued three monetary awards in the following categories:
- Elementary category (Grades 4-6) for the project entitled “Calcium Counts: An Essential Mineral for Bone Health”
- Junior category (Grades 7-8) for the project entitled “The Impact of Social media on Academic Performance and Mental Health Among Middle School Students”
- Senior category (Grades 11-12) for the project entitled “Loss of SKP2 Induces Chromosome Instability in Tubo-Ovarian Contexts”
